Dr. David Shute joins Cascade Health Alliance

On January 2, 2018, Dr. David Shute joined the Klamath Falls-based medical management companies Cascade Comprehensive Care, Inc. (CCC) and Cascade Health Alliance (CHA) as its new Chief Medical Officer.

As a subsidiary of CCC, CHA serves as one of 16 coordinated care organizations (CCOs) in Oregon. CHA manages Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) benefits for its members and some Atrio Health Plan members as well. CHA currently serves more than 17,000 OHP members in Klamath County.

Dr. Shute received his medical degree at the University of Illinois. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and became so upon completing his residency at Oregon Health and Sciences University. His experience includes affiliations with multiple hospitals including Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital, and the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Most recently, he served as Medical Director, consultant and practicing physician for GreenField Health.

Throughout his career, Dr. Shute worked with patients, in administration, and in leading quality improvement work. His experience included both developing and implementing quality improvement measurement. He commented, "I believe in the work that CHA and CCOs are doing. We are committed to improving the health of patients and the community."

Dr. Shute is eager to learn about the Klamath Falls area. He is an avid white-water rafter, kayaker, skier, and mountain biker, and is thrilled about the recreational opportunities available in Klamath. He has family living nearby.
