ATRIO CEO Ruth Bauman viewed the designated building site, off of South Sixth Street in downtown Klamath Falls, with the Gospel Mission executive director Kent Berry and other stakeholders on Friday, September 23.

"We're thrilled to be able to help the community," Bauman said. The Klamath Works vision of a comprehensive human services campus, in which the Gospel Mission is a key player, is "hugely needed," to address complex and interwoven health, economic and social issues in the community, Bauman added.

"It's a creative approach to keep rural America healthy and improving," she said.

Plans are underway for the Gospel Mission to construct a three-building complex, totaling approximately 19,000 square feet, including a combination commercial kitchen, dining hall, and chapel building, as well as a new women's shelter and a men's facility, Berry said.

"We are just really grateful," Berry said, thanking Bauman and ATRIO for the donation, which brings the Gospel Mission closer to their fundraising goals. "We're so excited."

ATRIO is a regular supporter of organizations in Klamath County, and has made past donations to the Klamath Basin Senior Center, the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank, and funded free admission days at the Klamath County Fair.

Cascade Comprehensive Care, Inc. is a partial owner in ATRIO Health Plans. Cascade Health Alliance, the coordinated care organization managing Oregon Health Plan benefits for members in Klamath County, is a subsidiary of Cascade Comprehensive Care, Inc. Cascade Health Alliance made a $100,000 donation to the Gospel Mission earlier in September.

"It is great to have a partner in ATRIO that contributes regularly to the community," said Tayo Akins, CEO of Cascade Comprehensive Care, Inc. "Earlier in the year, other insurance carriers like MODA, PacificSource, Providence, LifeWise and Oregon's Health CO-OP contemplated leaving Klamath County serving the individual market in 2017. ATRIO decided to stay to serve our community. Since ATRIO serves the Medicare, Commercial and Individual market, we look forward to continued support from ATRIO as we begin to address social determinants of health for the population we serve."

ATRIO Health Plans serves thousands of members in Douglas, Josephine, Jackson, Klamath, Marion and Polk counties. ATRIO insurance plans include Medicare Advantage, Individual, Family and Group health insurance, and the company is proud to have achieved membership growth through financially sound underwriting practices that result in competitively priced plans with comprehensive coverage.

Open enrollment in ATRIO health insurance plans begins October 15. For more information, visit the website www.atriohp.com, call the toll free phone number 877.672.8620, or visit one of its offices. The Klamath Falls ATRIO office is located at 2909 Daggett Ave., Suite 250.
