Become a Certified Traditional Health Care Worker: Doula Birthing!

When:

    • March 19-21 and 26-28

    • 9am-5pm each day, with regular breaks.

What is a doula:

    • Doulas are trained professionals who provide continuous physical, emotional, and information support to a pregnant person before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help them create the healthiest possible birth experience. This training will give you all necessary tools to start attending births and supporting new parents immediately.

Where:

    • Virtual - Participants need access to a device with a camera and the capability to Zoom

Cost: No cost to participate!

    • We understand cost can be a barrier to many and that is why we are sponsoring the first 20 participants. Once certified, you will be expected to commit to attending at least 3 births in Klamath County via referrals from CHA.

Curricula:

    • The training will feature a full DONA-approved birth doula training, as well as the trainings necessary to become a THW (collaborative care, HIPAA compliance, etc.) Highlights of the birth doula training include physiology of pregnancy, stages of labor, labor support techniques, and perinatal comfort measures.

Trainer:

    • Jesse Remer is an internationally recognized DONA-certified birth and postpartum doula and doula trainer. She has supported more than 700 births throughout her career and is the founder of Mother Tree Birth Services.
